Community Pharmacist and Apprentice to the Pharmacy Forum NI Board

My father was a dedicated community pharmacist and I was brought up working in the world of pharmacy from no age!

In my lifetime, I have been involved in pharmacy in Australia, England and Northern Ireland.  I have worked in community pharmacy since graduating from the University of Bath in 2015. I currently work in a busy village community pharmacy. No day is the same!

Pharmacy is an ever-changing career. My passion for pharmacy began at a young age and has remained, even while the profession has evolved. I thoroughly enjoy the day-to-day balance of science and public relations that community pharmacy offers.

Community pharmacy is increasingly becoming a front-facing, one-stop service for the public to access professional healthcare advice in real-time.

In recent years and indeed months, the dynamic of community pharmacy has changed. With change comes challenge and the harnessing of new skills and increasing demand make community pharmacy an exciting prospect.

The service we provide often channels the public to the healthcare advice or sector they need. I am keen to see further expansion and diversification of pharmacy to provide even more clinical and vital services in the future.
