I develop and deliver teaching and assessment for undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences students.
I was inspired to do a PhD as an undergraduate by Queen’s University Belfast researchers. During my PhD I had some teaching opportunities and loved the mix of teaching, research and practice. As all three areas complement and inform each other I knew this was the career path I wanted to follow.
I have found it to be such a diverse, stimulating and rewarding career. I have had the opportunity to meet and learn from people from all around the world through my teaching and research. At the same time, I’ve worked in local community pharmacies in Northern Ireland and knowing that you’re helping people to improve and manage their health is so rewarding.
There are so many opportunities in pharmacy in NI when you look for them. The Pharmacy Futures NI initiative will really highlight where to find them!
